The importance of child play has been emphasized by professionals for years. Due to the hectic work schedule of parents nowadays, playtime for children has considerably decreased over the last two decades. Free play has been replaced with reading assignments and academic homework. Although the result of focusing academically has a good effect in your child’s future, this all comes at a cost.

Play is critical for a child’s development because it allows children to channel their creativity in a variety of ways that will develop cognitive, motor and social skills that they can apply in adult life. Free play provides enjoyment and freedom for kids that will take them away of the pressure in school or academics. Children will think they always need to be at their “BEST” and they will utilize the ideas they learn from their play environment to interact, solve problems, and manage their behaviour with others. In the long run, they will become well rounded adults who possess a good sense of balance between work and play.
